About a year and a half ago I decided that I needed a hobby and settled on photography. After some research, I bought a Canon 5D Mark II. Unfortunately I have been hit or miss on actually going out and using it. I go through periods of taking a lot of pictures and then fallow periods.
I was chatting with a friend a few weeks ago and the subject came up and she suggested we go on a photography outing. After a few reschedulings, we ventured out yesteday. Not too far from home, just over to Reston. First Lake Anne and then Plaza America.
I wasn't sure how things would go, because it was the middle of the afternoon on a sunny day which isn't so great for lighting. But after some trial and error and a lot of post processing, I have about 35 pictures in the final Lightroom collection that I'm really happy with.
Most of the shots were portraits and since I don't have any model releases (formal or informal) I will not be posting those right now, but I thought I'd share a nice landscape shot that I took. I have no idea what kind of flower this is - I just thought it was pretty. If anyone knows, feel free to comment :-)
